About Gowrings Ford of Reading

Gowrings has been established for over 85 years and is one of the most well-known and respected car dealerships in Hampshire, Berkshire and the Thames Valley. In 2002 the dealership in Newbury was bought by City Motor Holdings and a new dealership Gowrings Ford of Basingstoke was purpose built on Houndmills Autoplaza, bringing the Ford franchise back to the town (Basingstoke had been without a Ford main dealer for 5 years). In 2005 Derek Morgan joined as Managing Director which has seen the whole company go from strength to strength. In March 2008 Derek Morgan bought Evans Halshaw Ford in Basingstoke Road Reading,  re-branding it as Gowrings of Reading to bring the Gowrings brand back to Reading.
